• Email: Obtained from secure third-party authentication services including Google or Apple Sign-In.
• Family Hairline History: Information about your family's genetic hairline progression based on selections from images of:

  • Father's father
  • Mother's father
• Hairline Photos: Four photos of your hairline, either taken with your device's camera or uploaded from your gallery.
• Face Photos: Optional face photos for facial analysis features, including facial attractiveness assessment, face shape analysis, and AI ancestral estimation.
• Biometric Data: When you use face scanning features, we collect and process biometric identifiers and biometric information as defined by applicable privacy laws, including facial geometry and characteristics for analysis purposes.
• Additional Attributes: Such as last scan date, hairline status, hair type, hair health, and analysis results.

Usage and Retention of Photos and Family History:

Purpose: Hairline photos, face photos, family hairline history, and biometric data are used solely for AI analysis and to enhance your user experience within the App, including hairline progression tracking, facial analysis, attractiveness assessment, face shape analysis, and ancestral estimation.

Data Sharing: Recede.io does not share or sell user data, including photos, biometric data, and family history, to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Retention: These data points are retained strictly in association with your user account and can be deleted upon your request through the "Delete Account" option. Biometric data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion or upon request.

2.2 Authentication Information

Third-Party Authentication: We use secure third-party authentication services including Google or Apple Sign-In. These services are used strictly for authentication purposes and do not have access to your other personal information stored within our App.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

Local Storage:

• Authentication Data: Information about your login status to keep you signed in.
• User Preferences: Settings and preferences to personalize your experience.
• Session Data: Temporary data needed for the app to function properly during your session.
• Profile Status: Information about whether you've completed setting up your profile.

Local Storage Management: This data is stored on your device to improve app performance and user experience. It's automatically cleared when you delete your account or uninstall the app.

Analytics and Tracking: We use third-party analytics services to collect anonymized usage data to improve the App's functionality and user experience. Tracking data is used exclusively to improve app performance and is anonymized to prevent personally identifiable information exposure.

How We Use Your Information

• AI Analysis: To provide personalized AI analysis results of your hairline progression and facial characteristics.
• Facial Analysis: To provide facial attractiveness assessment, face shape analysis, and AI ancestral estimation when you choose to use these optional features.
• Personalized Protocols: To generate customized recommendations and protocols based on your hairline analysis and progression data.
• Service Improvement: To enhance App functionality and user experience.
• Biometric Processing: To analyze facial geometry and characteristics for the purpose of providing facial analysis services.

Data Storage:

• Local Storage (React State): Stores data such as authentication status, user profile completion status, and loading states on your device for real-time UI management.
• Cloud Storage: Stores persistent user information, including photos, analysis results, and extended profile details, accessible across sessions and devices.

Data Storage and Retention

4.1 Local Data (Stored on Your Device)

Data Included: Authentication status, userData, profile completion status, loading states, family hairline history.

Purpose: Manage real-time UI state and enhance user experience within the App's runtime.

Data Retention: Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete your account or manually clear the App's data. Sensitive data stored locally is only accessible within the App runtime and is securely removed from the device when you delete your account or clear the App data.

4.2 Remote Data (Cloud Storage)

Data Included: Hairline photos, face photos, biometric data from facial analysis, report card screenshots, analysis results, basic information (username, age, email), profile status, additional attributes (last scan date, hairline status, etc.).

Purpose: Provide persistent, secure, and real-time data storage that persists beyond app sessions and across different devices for comprehensive hairline and facial analysis services.

Data Retention: We retain your data only as long as necessary for the App's functionality. Data is stored indefinitely until you explicitly delete your account or request data deletion. Biometric data is subject to specific retention policies and is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Cloud Storage Protection: Secure storage of data in our cloud infrastructure with access controls based on user authentication. All photos, biometric data, and sensitive information are encrypted and are accessible only through authenticated sessions.
• Authentication Security: Use of secure authentication protocols provided by Google and Apple Sign-In through third-party authentication services.
• Local Data Security: Data stored locally is managed within the App's secure environment and is only accessible during App runtime.
• Data Encryption: We use industry-standard encryption protocols (e.g., TLS) to protect data in transit and encryption at rest for data stored on our servers.
• Biometric Data Protection: Biometric data receives enhanced security protections including additional encryption layers, restricted access controls, and secure deletion protocols to comply with applicable biometric privacy laws.

Note: While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Your Rights

• Access and Correction: You can access and update your personal information within the App.
• Data Deletion: Delete all your data (both locally and from our servers) using the "Delete Account" option in the main screen profile settings.
• Consent Withdrawal: You may withdraw your consent for data collection at any time by deleting your account.
• Biometric Data Rights: You have the right to refuse consent for biometric data collection or withdraw consent at any time. You may request deletion of biometric data specifically, which will be completed within 30 days. Withdrawal of biometric consent may limit access to facial analysis features.

Children's Privacy

Our App is intended for use by individuals aged 13 and older. If you are under the age of 13, please obtain permission from a parent or guardian before using the App. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the U.S. and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Parental Control: Parents or guardians have control over their child's data and can request deletion of their child's information at any time by using the "Delete Account" option or contacting us directly.

Biometric Privacy

We collect and process biometric identifiers and biometric information when you use our facial analysis features. This section provides specific information about biometric data handling:

• Consent: By using facial analysis features, you provide informed consent for the collection and processing of biometric data.
• Purpose: Biometric data is used solely for providing facial analysis services including attractiveness assessment, face shape analysis, and ancestral estimation.
• Retention: Biometric data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the services or until you request deletion, whichever comes first. All biometric data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Sharing: We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric data. Biometric data is not shared with third parties except as required by law.
• Security: Biometric data receives enhanced security protections and is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
• Rights: You may withdraw consent and request deletion of biometric data at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature.
