• Age: Collected during sign-in to personalize your experience. Your age is used solely for enhancing user experience and ensuring appropriate content delivery. If you are under the age of 13, please obtain permission from a parent or guardian before using the App.
• Username: Provided by you for identification within the App.
• Email: Obtained from Firebase Authentication using Google or Apple Sign-In.
• Family Hairline History: Information about your family's genetic hairline progression based on selections from images of:
  • Father
  • Father's father
  • Mother's father
• Photos: Four photos of your hairline, either taken with your device's camera or uploaded from your gallery.
• Additional Attributes: Such as last scan date, hairline status, hair type, and hair health.

Usage and Retention of Photos and Family History:

Purpose: Photos and family hairline history are used solely for AI analysis and to enhance your user experience within the App.

Data Sharing: Recede.io does not share or sell user data, including photos and family history, to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Retention: These data points are retained strictly in association with your user account and can be deleted upon your request through the "Delete Account" option.

2.2 Authentication Information

Firebase Authentication: We use Firebase for authentication through Google or Apple Sign-In services. Firebase is used strictly for authentication purposes and does not have access to your other personal information.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

Local Storage (React State):

• user: Represents the currently authenticated Firebase user.
• userData: Contains additional user-specific information fetched from Firestore.
• profileCompleted: Indicates whether you have completed your profile setup.
• isLoading: Represents the loading state during authentication and data fetching.

Tokens and Local Storage Solutions: Used to manage data and user sessions within the App.

Analytics and Tracking: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data to improve the App's functionality and user experience. Tracking data is used exclusively to improve app performance and is anonymized to prevent personally identifiable information exposure.

How We Use Your Information

• AI Analysis: To provide personalized AI analysis results of your hairline.
• Service Improvement: To enhance App functionality and user experience.

Data Storage:

• Local Storage (React State): Stores data such as authentication status, user profile completion status, and loading states on your device for real-time UI management.
• Firestore Storage: Stores persistent user information, including photos, analysis results, and extended profile details, accessible across sessions and devices.

Data Storage and Retention

4.1 Local Data (Stored on Your Device)

Data Included: Authentication status, userData, profile completion status, loading states, family hairline history.

Purpose: Manage real-time UI state and enhance user experience within the App's runtime.

Data Retention: Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete your account or manually clear the App's data. Sensitive data stored locally is only accessible within the App runtime and is securely removed from the device when you delete your account or clear the App data.

4.2 Remote Data (Stored in Firestore)

Data Included: Photos, report card screenshots, analysis specifics, basic information (username, age, email), profile status, additional attributes (last scan date, hairline status, etc.).

Purpose: Provide persistent, secure, and real-time data storage that persists beyond app sessions and across different devices.

Data Retention: We retain your data only as long as necessary for the App’s functionality. Data is stored indefinitely until you explicitly delete your account or request data deletion.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Firestore Protection: Secure storage of data in Firestore with access controls based on user authentication. All photos and sensitive data are encrypted in Firestore and are accessible only through authenticated sessions.
• Authentication Security: Use of secure authentication protocols provided by Google and Apple Sign-In through Firebase.
• Local Data Security: Data stored locally is managed within the App's secure environment and is only accessible during App runtime.
• Data Encryption: We use industry-standard encryption protocols (e.g., TLS) to protect data in transit and encryption at rest for data stored on our servers.

Note: While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Your Rights

• Access and Correction: You can access and update your personal information within the App.
• Data Deletion: Delete all your data (both locally and from Firestore) using the "Delete Account" option in the main screen profile settings.
• Consent Withdrawal: You may withdraw your consent for data collection at any time by deleting your account.

Children's Privacy

Our App is intended for use by individuals aged 13 and older. If you are under the age of 13, please obtain permission from a parent or guardian before using the App. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the U.S. and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Parental Control: Parents or guardians have control over their child’s data and can request deletion of their child’s information at any time by using the "Delete Account" option or contacting us directly.
